Construction employment growth continues

Figures released from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) today have showed a continued trend of growth of employment in the Construction Sector.

The Central Statistics Office (CSO) data showed an increase of 1.4% in February 2007, compared with the same period in 2006.

"These figures from the CSO demonstrate the continued growth of the construction sector in Ireland and the vibrancy of the industry," said a spokesperson for the Construction Industry Federation.

"The continued increase in employment in the construction industry reflects the ability of the construction sector to deliver both the required level of housing, key infrastructure projects and the new National Development Plan."
