Babycare retailer Mothercare today reported a modest decline in like-for-like sales at its UK stores.

Babycare retailer Mothercare today reported a modest decline in like-for-like sales at its UK stores.

The fall of 0.3% for the 11 weeks to March 31 was offset by stronger online business and further strong growth internationally, including the Republic of Ireland.

Chief executive Ben Gordon said it had been a solid quarter for the company and pointed out that overall sales were up 5.1% in the financial year to the end of March.
