Severn Trent said today it planned to cut 600 jobs from its water business over the next five years – equivalent to 10% of its workforce.

The Birmingham-based operation, which serves 3.7 million household and business customers in England and Wales, will achieve the reduction through normal staff turnover and by voluntary means.
