250 e-business delegates gather for Dublin forum

Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach Tom Kitt today opened the 10th UN CEFACT Forum which is being held for the first time in Dublin, at the Guinness Storehouse.

Two hundred and fifty global delegates are at the week-long forum, all of them experts in electronic trading and e-business.

Mr Kitt told them that it was in everyone’s interest to reduce the obstacles to efficient trade. He said the level of paperwork and administrative burdens could be daunting for exporters to overcome.

"This is particularly a problem for small businesses and represents a disproportionate burden on their efforts to secure new markets," he said.
