Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Dermot Ahern TD will launch Digiweb’s New Data and Network Operations Centre and Fibre Network this afternoon in Blanchardstown, Dublin.

The Datacentre will be the core of Digiweb's Internet and Broadband infrastructure, allowing for further rapid broadband deployment, as well as specific datacentre services which are in high demand by Irish high-tech companies and international firms who wish to base themselves in Ireland.

The Network Operations Centre is Digiweb's 24-hour monitoring and response environment, covering Digiweb's entire national Wireless and Fibre broadband network and datacentre, corporate connectivity solutions and manages Data Centre services.

Digiweb have also announced its ongoing expansion plans, including the creation of an additional 200 knowledge based jobs over the next 3 years, expansion into new markets outside Ireland, and deployment of new technologies including Ireland’s first 4G always-on mobile broadband network.
