Aer Arann says no to baggage charges

Ireland’s regional airline Aer Arann confirmed today that it has no plans to introduce baggage charges on its domestic or international routes in the wake of other airline hikes in baggage charges at the weekend.

Aer Arann operates over 500 flights per week across 37 routes in Ireland, the UK and France and carries over 1 million passengers per year.

Head of sales and marketing Colin Lewis said: "While other airlines see baggage charges as a way of increasing revenue, Aer Arann is committed to not introducing this additional charge for passengers on our flights.

"As part of our ongoing customer service programme we are continually striving to enhance the Aer Arann customer experience and we see this charge as a potential deterrent to frequent air travel."
