Bonus windfall for John Lewis staff

More than 65,000 staff at department store chain John Lewis will share a record bonus pot of £155m (€227.3m) after annual profits rose 27% today.

The payout from the partnership, which is co-owned by its employees, is 29% higher than last year and equivalent to more than nine weeks’ pay for each member of staff.
