The FTSE 100 Index rose by almost 1% today, fuelling hopes that the turbulence of previous sessions could be over.

The FTSE 100 Index rose by almost 1% today, fuelling hopes that the turbulence of previous sessions could be over.

Traders were boosted by a strong session in Asia as the Footsie lifted 52.6 points to 6111.3 by mid-morning.
