Financials and construction help ISEQ rise
The Dublin Stock Exchange had a comfortable start to the day with contributions from the financial and construction sectors.
The ISEQ stood at 9,743.69 just after 11am this morning after a rise of 33.09 points.
Most of the financials were in positive territory with the Bank of Ireland the highest riser, up 16c, to €18.01. Anglo Irish Bank went up 10c to €16.15 and the AIB rose six cents to €23.18. However, Irish Life and Permanent dipped nine cents to €21.79.
There was also a positive surge in construction with building material group CRH recording the largest increase of the morning of 41c to €32.42, while Grafton had a more modest 15c rise to €12.90. Rivals McInerney Holdings climbed 14c to €15.69 but Kingspan went in the red for the morning after slipping 10c to €20.40.
Elsewhere, technology company Iona had a 20c increase to €4.20 only to be outdone by Paddy Power with a 21c rise to €18.35.
Low-cost airline fell by 10c to €12.49.
