Lloyds TSB in row over outsourcing

British bank Lloyds TSB was at the centre of an outsourcing row with its staff union today after the company announced the closure of a back office operation.

The move puts 243 staff under threat as the bank said the Thorpe Wood service centre at Peterborough, which employs staff in non-customer facing roles, would close by the end of the year.
