Nasdaq today ruled out raising its hostile bid for the London Stock Exchange ahead of the New York exchange’s self-imposed deadline at midnight tomorrow.

The US rival said there was now “insufficient time” for it to revise its 1243p a share offer, blaming the LSE’s refusal to enter into talks.
