PR students enter 'flourishing' industry
Job opportunities are now plentiful in a flourishing public relations industry, according to the newly elected president of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII).
Mr Justin Green told a meeting of PRII graduates today: “The industry in Ireland is now worth €50m per annum and growing”
“You are entering the profession at a particularly buoyant time with a host of job vacancies being advertised.”
170 students recently graduated with the Public Relations Diploma in a ceremony in UCD organised by the PRII.
Amongst those to graduate was Aoibhín Mitchell, daughter of Fine Gael MEP and TD, Mr Gay Mitchell while the Gladys Nevin trophy for Top Student was won jointly by Anne Delaney and Sinead Nic Oireachtaigh.
Anne is a graduate of NUI Maynooth and a teacher in Naas, Co Kildare, while Sinead works as Internal Communications Manager with BT Ireland. Both studied at the European Institute of Communications.
