Eddie Stobart orders 500 Swedish trucks

Swedish truckmaker Scania today said it had won an order for 500 trucks from British trucking company Eddie Stobart Ltd.

Financial details were not disclosed. Scania said deliveries will begin in March.

Scania has been embroiled in a fight to stave off a hostile takeover attempt by German rival MAN AG, but MAN said yesterday it was dropping its €10.3bn bid in favour of friendly talks about a possible link-up.
