UK: Pickle maker to close two factories

Branston Pickle maker Premier Foods said today it will close two factories in a move putting more than 400 jobs at risk.

The group will shut its site at King’s Lynn in Norfolk by December and will close a factory at Ashford in Kent by May next year.

It said plans to expand three other factories at Wisbech, Worksop and Long Sutton in Lincolnshire meant it was hopeful that many of the employees affected by the closures would remain with the company.
