Irish shares outperform most leading indices worldwide

The Irish Stock Exchange (ISE) says it enjoyed one of its best-ever years last year.

The overall index of Irish shares was up 28% in 2006, outperforming most of the leading indices in the world. Equity turnover was up 19% to more than €129bn, while €3.7bn was raised by companies trading on the ISE.
