Bakers are warning of an imminent rise in the price of bread following a poor wheat harvest this year.

The poor yield - the worst in 25 years - has pushed up grain prices by 25%.

The Irish Bread Bakers Association says gas prices have also gone up by 30% and bakeries cannot absorb these increases without passing on some of the burden to the consumer.
