Spain's troubled Air Madrid suspends operations
Low-cost Spanish carrier Air Madrid, which flies to London among other destinations, halted its operations today, saying a government threat to suspend its licence because of repeated flight delays had devastated its ticket sales and credibility.
The two-year-old airline gave no figures, but Spanish National Radio said up to 300,000 ticket-holders will be affected. Many of the company’s flights cover routes to Latin America.
