Three Dublin retailers convicted of breaching pricing laws

Three Dublin retailers have been convicted of pricing offences following prosecutions taken by the Director of Consumer Affairs and the National Consumer Agency.

Iona Stores, which owns the Spar shop at 176, South Circular Road, and Copper Cove, owner of the Centra Store on Dame St in Dublin city centre, have both been convicted for failing to properly display prices.

The owner of the Centra Store at Camden St, meanwhile, has been convicted of charging prices higher than those displayed.

Iona Stores has been fined €1,000 and Copper Cove €350, while the owner of the Camden St Centra, Joseph O'Leary, has been given probation provided he makes a €250 donation to charity.
