Compass Group reports €10.6m in new business

Compass Group Plc, which has a strong presence across the Republic of Ireland through its Eurest workplace catering operation, has announced its preliminary results for the year ending September 30, 2006.

In Ireland, the foodservice organisation experienced strong performance in all sectors for the financial year.

The Group reported new business gains of over €10.6m in total turnover and strengthened its Irish client portfolio with a number of leading Irish company names, including: Analog Limerick, Mason Hayes & Curran, Motorola Cork and AMO.

Total turnover for the last financial year was €88m - an increase of 13% over the previous financial year.

Compass operates at 210 locations and employs over 2,500 people in Ireland.

Commenting, Mike Malloy, Managing Director of Compass Group’s business in Ireland said: "We have also achieved considerable organic growth and a very high contract retention rate.

"The outlook for the remainder of the year is positive with the Irish market continuing to offer good potential for us to grow our client base."
