IL&P appoint new chief executive

Irish Life & Permanent plc have announced the appointment of Denis Casey as group chief executive designate of the group.

Irish Life & Permanent plc have announced the appointment of Denis Casey as group chief executive designate of the group.

Casey will succeed David Went who will retire from this position in May of next year.

Mr Casey was appointed to the board of Irish Life & Permanent plc in 2000 and is currently Chief Executive of permanent tsb Bank - the banking arm of the group.

Chairman of the group, Gillian Bowler, said: "Denis has a unique experience of running our banking and life assurance businesses and has demonstrated his ability to bring focussed, results-driven leadership to his various roles. "

Speaking on his appointment, Casey said he was "honoured" to have been selected.
