India’s telecom company Bharti Airtel has signed a deal with US retailer Wal-Mart to open a chain of retail stores across the country.

India’s telecom company Bharti Airtel has signed a deal with US retailer Wal-Mart to open a chain of retail stores across the country.

Kamal Nath, India’s trade minister, did not reveal any details about the deal but said he was aware of the decision.

Sunil Mittal, Bharti Airtel’s chief executive officer, said an announcement would be made later today, but declined to name the partner.
