Microsoft hands over information before deadline
EU regulators said Microsoft has handed in compatibility information in time to meet a Thursday deadline and officials will now test it to check if the company has finally complied with a 2004 antitrust ruling.
The European Commission, which fined Microsoft €280m in July for not providing the “complete and accurate” interface data, said the technical manual can now be reviewed by “potential licensees” – companies who make software for the workgroup server market, such as Sun, Novell and IBM among others.
