Daily Mail publisher posts 9% profits rise
Newspaper publisher Daily Mail & General Trust posted a 9% rise in profits today and reported “a gentle recovery” in advertising.
The owner of the Daily Mail and Evening Standard as well as a host of regional titles, said pre-tax profits were up to a record £260m (€384.5m) in the 12 months to October 1.
The company said the new year started well with the advertising market strengthening at its national titles, although there was not much of a recovery at its regional arm Northcliffe.
