Ladbrokes changes 'pricing up' policy

Bookmakers Ladbrokes has announced a major change to their policy of pricing up Irish races with reserves.

The firm will now price up all Irish races according to confirmed runners only and offer all reserves on the list at SP only. Punters wishing to back a reserve in the morning can still opt for the SP and get their money back if their selection does not race.

Crucially however, punters may no longer be subjected to Rule 4 deductions when the reserves are confirmed as non-runners. A new betting market will be formed when reserves have been confirmed and punters will still be able to take an early price.

Ladbrokes said today punters will still be paid out according to the win if an early selection is beaten into second place by a reserve horse.
