Vodafone joins battle for UK broadband business
Mobile phone giant Vodafone joined the battle for broadband business today by unveiling details of its £25 (€37)-a-month Vodafone at Home service.
The product, which will be available to its contract customers from January, offers unlimited broadband and inclusive landline calls to any UK landline.
Vodafone said it expected the At Home service to be available to 97% of UK householders, as it utilises BT Wholesale’s broadband network.
The launch will add to competition in the sector following aggressive moves in recent months by firms including Carphone Warehouse and BSkyB.
The new offerings have been felt by BT, which said yesterday its share of new broadband customers fell from 30% to 25% in the three months to September 30.
