ISEQ up as financials perform well

The ISEQ rose 51.34 to stand at 8756.42 at 10.30am today.

Allied Irish Bank was up 44c (2%) at €22.00, while Irish Life and Permanent gained 27c (1.4%) to €19.13.

Bank of Ireland was up 9c at €16.04 on the day the Labour Court was due to begin hearings into a dispute on the company’s pension scheme.

Anglo Irish Bank slipped 1c to €14.70.

IAWS gained 30c (1.7%) to €18.10. C&C fell 5c to €12.60.

CRH made 14c to €27.71. Grafton, the morning’s busiest share, was up 5c at €11.70.
