Survey reveals fall in employment vacancies

The number of firms reporting vacancies across all sectors has fell 1% to 14%, according to the FÁS/ESRI employment and vacancies survey today.

The fall continues the 6% slump in vacancies in August.

Vacancies in the industrial sector climbed 5% to 22%, while the retail sector saw a 4% fall in vacancies to 4% and the services sector fell 1% to 18%.

The construction sector was stable for the third month in a row.
