Information systems firm raises €1.6m in funding
A Limerick-based developer of information systems for the waste industry has acquired a €1.6m investment in the company.
Advanced Manufacturing Control Systems Limited (AMCS) will use the new investment to finance their expansion into the UK market and to support new product development.
The new investors include NCB Ventures, Mianach Venture Capital and Shannon Development.
AMCS was founded by James Martin and Austin Ryan and has operations in Limerick at Crecora and the National Technological Park.
The company’s products comprise information systems that are used by Local Authorities and private waste operators to obtain comprehensive data from their fleets of vehicles to facilitate the identification of bins, the bin location and the weight of the waste collected.
These systems enable operators to charge customers on a pay-by-weight or pay-by-use basis and allow route planning and remote monitoring of recycling bins.
Their customers include Clean Ireland, Cork County Council, Galway City Council, Access Waste, Greenstar, Veolia and Oxigen.
Declan Hogan of Mianach Venture Capital and Will Prendergast of NCB Ventures will be joining the board of the company.
