Recruitment chief founder gets entrepreneur award

Founder and chief executive of CPL Resources Anne Heraty has been named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

Founder and chief executive of CPL Resources Anne Heraty has been named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

She was announced as the winner of the international category before receiving the overall title which was presented, at a gala ceremony last night, by Minister for Enterprise Mr. Micheal Martin T.D.

Founded in 1989 CPL Resources is the leading Irish provider of recruitment and human resource services including specialist recruitment, workforce management, payroll and outsourcing.

Operating through a network of 12 offices including Ireland (Dublin, Limerick, Cork, Galway, Laois) UK and Poland the company employs an internal workforce of 250 employees and offers long and short term work to over 15,000 people each year.

CPL is the number one specialist in Ireland for a number of business sectors including IT and Pharmaceutical.

Other business areas CPL operates in include finance and accounting, human resources, engineering, sales and administrative and light industrial.

Since June 1999, CPL has been listed on the DCM and AIM markets. Analysts forecasted its turnover to June 2006 at €125m and a profit before tax of €9.5m.

Speaking at the awards ceremony Ulster Bank corporate markets chief executive Robert Gallagher said: “On behalf of Ulster Bank congratulations to Ann Heraty and to all of the other finalists. All of those involved in this year’s programme have shown tremendous commitment and vision and we wish them every success in the future.”
