Medical software firm wins development award
Blue Zinc, a Belfast-based software and consultancy company, has won an award for significant business growth over the last year.
The company is the top participant in the Investment Belfast Enzyme programme, which is sponsored by ISEQ-listed all-island energy company Viridian, along with Bytel, Northern Ireland Science Park and Belfast City Council.
Viridian CEO Patrick Haren, who made the presentation, said: "Blue Zinc is a perfect example of a company that has moved from being a fledgling business to a more established one, with some terrific reference sites.
"Enzyme is a great success, something that we should be willing to praise, help and encourage."
The enzyme programme was set up to aid the growth and development of young businesses. Forty-five of Northern Ireland’s most successful businesspeople give up their time to advise the founders and managers of up-and-coming companies.
Twelve companies have been helped in such a way over the past year.
Blue Zinc, judged the most successful of these at putting skills learned in the programme into effect, provides practice and clinical management software TM2 for physiotherapy, osteopathy and chiropractic professions.
The company was formed in 2003, and launched in Australia last year, where TM2 is considered the leading software package for the sector. The system is also in use in the UK’s largest private-hospital chain.
