Carton House opens after €80m investment

Kildare's Carton House has opened its doors as a luxury 165-bedroom hotel, following an €80m investment programme.

The opening of the hotel has created 150 new full-time and 50 part-time jobs in the local area, bringing the total number of people employed on the Carton estate to 300.

Carton has two championship golf courses, the Montgomerie and the O’Meara, and is home to the Golfing Union of Ireland head quarters and National Coaching Academy.
