E-learning firm ThirdForce increases losses after investments

E-learning company ThirdForce has doubled its losses from €456,000 for the first six months of last year to €1m in the same period this year.

The company said the hike in losses was down to the group’s investment in new products and new markets. Its acquisitions have included Irish e-learning business The Electric Paper Company Ltd, adult literacy and numeracy specialists AV Edge Limited and the UK company Creative Learning Media, specialising in food safety and health and safety compliance.

ThirdForce has been awarded a contract by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) to create, design, develop and produce two consecutive TV series to address adult literacy and numeracy in Ireland. The first of 12 programmes is due for transmission in September.

ThirdForce has offices in Dublin, London, Somerset, Canada and Australia.
