€280m development planned for Waterford city centre
Up to 1,300 jobs could be created in Waterford as part of a €280m development planned for the heart of the city.
Another 600 jobs could also be created during construction of the project, which is still at the discussion stage.
The proposed five-acre development would include a four-star hotel and 60 shops, including major Irish and international retailers.
The company behind the scheme, KRM Construction Partnership, is expected to lodge a planning application with Waterford City Council shortly.
