Intel to axe 10,500 jobs

Chip-maker Intel, who operate a plant in Leixlip, Co Kildare, said tonight it would eliminate a total of 10,500 jobs over the next year through redundancies, natural wastage and the sale of underperforming business groups as part of a massive restructuring.

Chip-maker Intel, who operate a plant in Leixlip, Co Kildare, said tonight it would eliminate a total of 10,500 jobs over the next year through redundancies, natural wastage and the sale of underperforming business groups as part of a massive restructuring.

The Santa Clara, California-based company said most of the job cuts this year would come from the management, marketing and IT ranks.
