Director of Corporate Enforcement targets ten of country’s wealthiest

More than ten of the country's wealthiest individuals are being targeted by the Director of Corporate Enforcement.

The operation headed by Paul Appleby aims to disqualify them by prosecuting them in the High Court.

The Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement has compiled a list of people who it believes are guilty of fraud, or who are unfit to manage a company.

It’s believed that many of those on the list have already appeared before Tribunals.

Reports in the Sunday Business Post suggest that the multimillionaire owners of Bovale Developments, Tom and Michael Bailey, are just two of the high profile selection being targetted by the ODCE.

It’s claimed that Paul Appleby is interested in companies and individuals who have made large settlements with the taxman, or who have appeared before the planning tribunal.

Once disqualified, company directors are barred from being involved, either directly or indirectly, in the formation or management of any company for up to ten years.
