Live Register figures down by 2,400 last month

The Central Statistics Office has reported a decrease of 2,400 in the number of people on the Live Register last month.

Seasonally adjusted figures show that 157,600 people were claiming unemployment benefits in July, compared to 160,000 in June.

However, the Live Register count last month was 200 higher than the figure for July 2005.
