Irish firm reports significant gas find off south coast

An Irish-based company has announced a significant discovery of gas off the country's south coast.

The discovery off the Old Head of Kinsale gas field is the first new find in the Celtic Sea since 1990.

Island Oil and Gas says initial tests show the field extends over an area of 22 square kilometres and has potential volumes of 120 billion cubic feet.
