Docklands body admits difficulties securing retail tenants
The Dublin Docklands Development Authority has admitted that it has experienced difficulties securing retail tenants for the area.
Launching its latest annual report today, the authority announced that Meadows and Byrne would take up the anchor space at the CHQ building in the IFSC.
DDDA chairman Lar Bradshaw said businesses were initially slow to move into the area, but that is now changing as the renovation of the docklands area progresses.
"We're extremely confident that there are a lot of retailers now lined up," he said.
Environment Minister Dick Roche, meanwhile, encouraged cities and towns around the country to use the Dublin docklands as a model for regeneration.
"I think that the vision which has been achieved here and the processes which have helped achieve that vision can be transplanted elsewhere," he said.
