Banks, construction firms help ISEQ up 68

The ISEQ gained 68.51 points this morning to stand at 7463.15 at 10.30am.

Bank of Ireland was the morning’s busiest share and was up 25c (1.8%) at €13.85. Allied Irish Bank rose 26c (1.4%) to €18.76.

Anglo Irish Bank was up 6c at €11.50, while Irish Life and Permanent gained 5c to €17.70.

Kingspan made 20c (1.5%) to stand at €13.20. CRH was up 33c (1.3%) at €25.33.

Ryanair gained 9c (1.1%) to €7.89. The airline today welcomed the EU Commission's announcement of an inquiry into the abuse of PSO rules to block competition from low-fare airlines in Italy.
