A voluntary body which promotes issued of workplace safety is calling in employers to keep offices cool during the current heatwave.

The National Irish Safety Organisation says there is no legal maximum temperature, but bosses are expected to act reasonably once it reaches 17.5 degrees Celsius.

The organisation is recommending that employers relax dress codes, open windows and install air conditioning to make working conditions more comfortable.
