ISEQ up after good day for financials
The financials led the charge today as the ISEQ index of shares gained 79.39 today to close at 7470.83.
Irish Life & Permanent was up 32c to €17.80, AIB gained 22c to €18.65 while Bank of Ireland closed 10c up at €13.70.
Anglo Irish, however, was in the red, down 4c to €11.10.
It was a good day for low cost carrier Ryanair, which saw gains of 25c to €7.85 as it announced six new routes from Glasgow (two) and Frankfurt (four).
From October 31, Ryanair will start flights from Glasgow to Eindhoven and Riga. On the same date, the airline will start flights from Frankfurt to Balaton, Biarritz, Nantes and Valencia.
