ESB and UK firm to develop new power plant in England

The international branch of the ESB and UK firm Scottish and Southern Energy have joined forces to develop a new €575m power station in England.

The international branch of the ESB and UK firm Scottish and Southern Energy have joined forces to develop a new €575m power station in England.

The gas-powered plant will be built at Marchwood in Southampton.

Under the deal, Scottish and Southern will supply the gas for the station and purchase the electricity from its first 15 years of operation.
