Energia signs gas deal with Dublin Airport Authority

Energia, has signed a new gas supply contract with the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) worth €4.2m annually.

Energia, has signed a new gas supply contract with the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) worth €4.2m annually.

The contract will see Energia supplying gas to three of the Authority’s sites in Dublin and Shannon.

Energia supplies gas and electricity to the business sector. The company is a recent entrant into the gas market. It currently has a 25% market share of the all-island business electricity market.

Energia sales and marketing director Gary Ryan commented: "Energia believes that competition in the energy market is the key to lower costs for customers. Energia’s entrance into the gas market signals our commitment to this belief and we look forward to delivering a quality product to gas customers including the Dublin Airport Authority.

"Energia’s developing gas business will provide dual fuel options for our customers."

A member of Viridian Group, Energia sources power from the Group’s power station in north Dublin.

Viridian Group is currently investing in a second power plant in Dublin which will bring its investment in the Republic of Ireland to €500m, providing around 17 % of the State’s total electricity requirements.

Energia has offices in Dublin, Galway, Cork and Belfast.
