Rallying ISEQ closes up almost 60
The ISEQ index rallied today to close 58.88 points higher at 7510.51.
Greencore was the day’s biggest gainer, up 22c (5.9%) at €3.96.
Bookmaker Paddy Power rose 69c (5.1%) to €14.14.
Kingspan was up 22c (1.7%) at €13.07, after predicting profits ahead of expectations.
CRH gained 35c (1.4%) to €25.95.
Readymix finished the day up 2c at €2.33, following its announcement of a new financial director.
Elan gained 22c (1.6%) to €13.65, as it looks forward to the relaunch of Tysabri next month.
Trinity Biotech was unchanged at €1.68, following its agreement to buy a product line from bioMérieux for up to $51.9m (€40.7m).
Ryanair gained 10c (1.5%) to €6.60. The airline announced today that it has an agreement with the Moroccan government to develop tourism to the country from Europe.
FBD fell 44c (1.2%) to €35.26.
Bank of Ireland was up 15c (1.1%) at €14.30 at the end of the day. The bank today defended its pension plan for new employees.
Allied Irish Bank finished up 18c at €18.30. Irish Life and Permanent slipped 3c to €11.89, while Anglo Irish Bank, the day’s busiest share, fell 3c to €18.75.
Eircom was unchanged at €2.15.
