Consumers’ Association wants 'traffic-light' food labelling
The Consumers' Association has called for a "traffic-light" labelling system to be introduced for food in this country, so people can tell at a glance how healthy it is.
The system would feature red, green and amber marks for nutritional information, such as calories, fat, sugar and salt content.
The association believes the codes could help cut obesity rates by making it easier for people to work out what foods to avoid or consume in moderation.
