Aer Arann launches Cork-Nantes service

Irish airline Aer Arann today launched a new service from Cork to Nantes.

The service will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing Cork at 2.20pm midweek and 1.15pm on Sundays. The 66-seater ATR72 aircraft will depart from Nantes at 5.45pm midweek and 9.15pm on Sundays, with a flight time of one hour and 40 minutes.

Commenting on the announcement, Aer Arann marketing manager Micheal O’Callarain said: “Nantes is the sixth largest city in France and the capital of West France.

“The city boasts a rich and varied architectural and cultural heritage and is central to popular tourist destinations such as the Atlantic Coast, Brittany, Anjou and the Vendée.

“We are delighted to be launching this new service today and believe it will be popular with passengers from both regions.”

This is Aer Arann’s fourth new route from Cork this summer, including previously announced services to Cardiff, Newquay and Jersey. The airline also re-commenced the Cork-Lorient service for a second season.

“I am delighted to see the return of a direct Cork-Nantes service from Cork Airport”, said Pat Keohane, chief executive of Cork Airport.

“The addition of the Cork-Nantes route is a further example of Aer Arann's commitment to Cork and the Cork Airport Authority's desire to provide our customers with the widest possible choice of travel destinations throughout Europe.”
