Home shopping firm Littlewoods Shop Direct announced plans today to close three warehouses with the loss of 1,200 jobs.

The Liverpool-based retailer said it planned to close its warehouses in Eccles and Wigan, both Greater Manchester, and in Worcester in 2007.
