Royal Dutch Shell banks €2.2m profit an hour
Royal Dutch Shell announced it banked profits of £1.5m (€2.2m) an hour today, as first quarter figures again showed the benefit of sky-high oil prices.
The Anglo-Dutch giant said its earnings totalled $6.09bn (£3.31bn/€4.8bn) between January and March – up from $5.46bn (£2.97bn/€4.3bn) last year, and nearly 10% ahead of analysts’ estimates.
