ICAI joins Global Accounting Alliance

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI) has joined eight other professional accounting organisations to form the Global Accounting Alliance.

The other members include the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW), the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

The new group represents more than 700,000 of the world’s professional accountants

"The new alliance will work with national regulators, governments and stakeholders, through member-body collaboration, articulation of consensus views, and working together, where possible, with other international bodies," the ICAI said in a statement.
