Tesco announces 16.7% profits hike

Supermarket giant Tesco today announced annual profits of £2.21bn (€3.2bn) - an increase of 16.7% on a year earlier.

Tesco - which has 93 stores in Ireland - does not publish separate figures for its Irish operations.
